Back in October, I styled a shoot for a local magazine, for their Christmas issue. They asked me to get a tree, so off I went to track one down! The kind folks at Norfolk Christmas Trees gave me this 6ft Norway Spruce, which I duly carted off to the location and decorated for the shoot. I managed to get it back into the car and home in one piece, so I decided to make the most of it and to shoot two different ways of decorating your tree, just in case any of you are looking for a little tree inspiration!
Number one – rich and opulent, with zingy shades of red, purple and orange. I’ve had these baubles for years and years, in fact I bought them long before my obsession with vintage baubles began. Although they are not appearing on my actual tree this year, I still love their colours. Berries and velvet ribbon add a touch of Victorian decadence. Apply fairy lights liberally, and hang chandelier drops from your tree for a glittering display. I also pulled in any red textiles I cut get my hands on, including my beloved antique flags, which I displayed on this little ladder. I also pinned a couple of botanical prints on the wall for another splash of crimson.
I’ll post my second tree look tomorrow, and I also snapped my real tree yesterday to share with you! I can’t quite believe that this is just over a week before the big day, I have pretty much got a post lined up for every day, so please do keep popping back!
Have a wonderful Friday!
