Still life of roses and hyacinths

Hello everyone!

I may be slightly obsessed with these colours at the moment (who am I kidding, I’m obsessed with all colours at the moment!).  Maybe it’s because the landscape is so grey, but colour is shaping a lot of my photographs at the moment.  I  need to look into it a bit more, as I know colours can really affect our mood, but I often have a really strong urge to use certain colours on different days.  Which I find kind of fascinating!  I stand in the craft room (I might have to start calling it a studio, give the amount or lack thereof of crafting that actually happens in there!), and gather props according to there subtle shades and hues.  It’s these props that I use to ‘paint’ a picture using my camera.

The other day it was inky indigo and dusky lilacs, hence me purchasing these blooms from the local market.  My first blooms of 2018.  This week sees me painting some more photographic backdrops like the one above, and I’m bringing teal green and pink into play.  I’m looking forward to sharing the backdrops with you as soon as they are finished, I’ll also be bringing them with me to the Norwich styling workshop.

Hands up who received my newsletter on Sunday?  I’d love to know what you thought of it, it’s still such a learning curve!  And I have to tread a fine line between too short and too long.  I’d love your feedback and to know what else you’d like to see in the next one.  There were some sneaky peeks in there too which I hope you enjoyed!  (Including a glimpse of the new wallpaper for Lola’s room-so exciting!)

If you signed up but didn’t receive it, don’t forget that you do need to confirm that you definitely want to hear from me by confirming in an email you will have been sent.  It may have gone into your junk/spam folder so do double check.

Anyway, I’m off to do more painting!  Stay cosy folks.

(Ps – the beautiful little ceramic bowl that two of the cotton reels sit in, is by my talented friend Katie, aka Ceramic Magpie.)

Tamsyn x
