Hello everyone!  Wishing you a very Happy Easter!

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted.  A couple of times a year, I get these little blips in my creativity.  In the last couple of weeks I had one of these blips, I was busy on shoots and not getting as much sleep as I need.  Creativity is the first thing to suffer when that happens.  But I am back Dear Readers, and I am having a quiet time at home with the children, which is the best tonic ever.

Creative mojo…

I had lots and lots of kind comments on Instagram, as I posted about this loss of mojo this week.  I’m still learning to accept that when these waves come, you have to just go with it rather than fighting it, and trying to swim against it.  Someone sent me this quote, which I absolutely love.  ‘Like plants, we grow only when buried in darkness’.  Isn’t that beautiful?  So I’ve realised that this little break has happened because I’m recharging my batteries, and a burst of creativity is just around the corner.  And I think it’s going to be huge!  More on that later!

Anyway, back to today’s post.  I took these snaps a few weeks ago, when I visited my parents down in East Sussex.  I went down to cheer them up as their beloved but very old dog Rosie was very close to the end of her life.  She is now in doggy heaven, so I’m glad I saw her one last time.  I did have a lovely weekend exploring, and here’s what I got up to on the Saturday.

The Walled Nursery

It was my first visit to The Walled Nursery in Hawkhurst, and I absolutely loved it.  We had really delicious lunch of aubergine quiche with a salad, and it was so good.  Not only that, but lunch is served in one of the old Victorian glasshouses, so as you can imagine, I was in my element.

After lunch we had a wander around the other glasshouses and admired the beautiful hellebores in the sunshine.

The Old Haberdashery

As you know, no visit to my parents is complete without popping on to see my dear friend Sonia at The Old Haberdashery in Ticehurst.  It’s always so lovely to see her in her treasure trove of a shop, and as always I can aways with some gorgeous things.  I bought the little mint green stool you can see in the pictures above, I had to have it!  As I caught the train down due to car issues, I had to leave it at Mum and Dad’s, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it so I can photograph it.  I also came away with some pretty plates and cotton reels.

On the Sunday I went to Rye, so I’ll share those snaps with you in another post.  I am sending out a little newsletter this weekend with some exclusive, pretty pastel Easter photos, so do sign up if you haven’t already!  I’ll be linking to all my Easter posts from the last few years, so there will some pretty styling/crafting ideas in there too.

In other news I am off to Paris next weekend for 24 hours, on a solo photography adventure.  I am going to fill my camera roll with snaps, and hope to come back with a mini travel guide to share with you all!

Right, I’m of to enjoy a day with the children – we are off to Felbrigg Hall for an explore, then we are heading to Cromer for a stomp along the beach and fish and chips.  Have a wonderful Good Friday/Easter weekend everyone!

Tamsyn x
