How is May treating you so far? It’s been a busy few weeks here, but it has been lovely. We have celebrated a tenth birthday (my son!) and I assisted on a shoot on the Isle of Wight. I’ve shot lots of photographs which I’ve absolutely loved doing, and the car boot fair season has started up again, hurrah! On top of all this, the allotment and garden have both completely woken from their slumber. It’s now all go on the growing front!
Alfresco dining, Anthropologie style…
You may remember that back in January, Anthropologie got in touch to ask if they could gift me some beautiful homewares for me to style up. Anthropology is one of my favourite stores. So it’s a real honour and pleasure to have been asked again, to style up a photo for Instagram. This time it’s all about picnics and alfresco dining. On Wednesday I received this lovely box of goodies. I had a firm idea in my head that I wanted to shoot it on my trestle table, down the road on a little patch of heath where the cow parsley is out. (I shot this little scenario there last year).
Sunshine was what I needed for this to really come alive. Although the forecast for the next couple of days just said cloud, we woke up today to a sunny morning. After the school run this morning, I loaded up my car, and off I went. (My neighbours had great fun watching me trying to wedge the trestle table in my little car!) I quite enjoy the thrill of shooting somewhere public. The pressure is on to get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible, so that’s exactly what I did this morning!
(For those that are interested, I shot these on my Olympus Pen with my 45mm lens, and edited them in Lightroom.)
You can find all these pieces on the Anthropolgie website. I love their current collection of melamine plates, perfect for using outside without compromising on style. How cute are the ones with the little sailing boats on? I’ve got friends coming for lunch on Sunday, so fingers crossed it will be nice enough weather to use this tableware outside!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I have some snaps to share with you of my recent thrifted finds, so do pop back!
