Hello everyone, I hope you’re having lovely weekend.
This week has been a bit of a crazy one here. What with getting into a new school routine (my son is now at a different school and my daughter now catches a bus), and a very long day styling on a shoot in Devon, it’s fair to say I was feeling a little weary come Friday night! But with this morning’s ferrying to and fro of children from school trips and drama clubs done and dusted, it’s a quiet one for us now this afternoon.
I took these shots for the Reclaim Magazine using my growing collection of rustic pottery. It’s all thrifted from car boot fairs, and I know very little about it, but I love the rustic patterns and muted colours. It’s well worth scanning the shelves in charity shops, as they often have the odd piece here and there.
In this feature, I was sharing the plus side of loose leaf tea. As a huge tea drinker, it’s only this year that I’ve learned that many tea bags aren’t in fact compostable, due to the glue used in holding them together. Some brands are now changing how they make their tea bags, so do check the box when buying. However, using loose leaf tea does turn the whole process into a lovely ritual, and gives the perfect excuse to use a gorgeous tea pot and vintage tea strainer.
Next weekend the carpenter is coming to build the alcove cupboard in the new studio (in case you missed my last post, read it here!). The house is in total chaos, due to me emptying out the entire contents of that room (so much stuff!!), so it’s fair to say I can’t wait to be able to start to put everything away again. I need to get my paint roller out over the next week to give the other walls a fresh lick of paint, so I’m getting there!
Time is running out to vote for this blog in the Interior Blog Awards, Best Use of Photography category. I’m so very grateful to each and every one of you who have already voted. If you have not yet done so, I would be so grateful if you could please vote, it only takes a second and it would mean the world to me to get through to the final round. You can vote here, thank you so much.
Enjoy your weekend!
