Hello everyone!

I hope your week is going well.  Half term is upon us, and my big girl set off for Greece with her school for a whole week this morning, and next week my boy is doing a rugby workshop every day.  I suddenly feel like those days of worrying how to fill up the days in half term are turning into a distant memory!  I need to squeeze some pumpkin carving in with them somewhere along the line!

Anyway, today I wanted to share these images that I have taken for one of my new clients this year, Sue Massey of Bright As A Button Jewellery.  I shot my third session for her this week, and decided it was time to show you the work I’ve shot for her.

Sue makes beautiful jewellery from vintage buttons.  From pretty floral enamel buttons, to shiny art deco style buttons, Sue carefully sources them and turns them into earrings, necklaces and bracelets.  Naturally it has been so lovely for me to shoot something like this, not only because I love all things vintage, but also because I love the ethos of breathing new life into things from the past.  Plus it has challenged me as a photographer, to work on such a close up scale.

You can find Bright As A Button here on Facebook, and here on Instagram.  Sue attends various fairs in East Anglia, so go along and find yourself some beautiful, handmade Christmas presents!  (I am really passionate about shooting for small craft businesses and makers, so please do get in touch of you would like me to shoot for you.)

In other news, I have a post brewing in my head about the ways that I am (trying!) to cut back on plastic and waste.  The recent events on the news prove to me that I need to make our little home more sustainable, and that I have a responsibility to my children to try and lead a greener life.  I will of course procrastinate about writing it, but I’d love to hear in the comments if this is something you would be interested in hearing about!

I’m off into the attic later to fetch my homemade pumpkins!  (More photos here!)
