Alfresco Dining Prettiness

(Items gifted by One Dot World, all views are my own.)
Hello, I hope you had a lovely weekend!
I am lucky enough to have a small space down the end of my garden that I have been gradually been turning into a little retreat for a spot of alfresco dining. Under the apple tree and next to my summerhouse, there is a space a few meters square. (Check out some pictures of my summerhouse here and here.) There is now a bench and a little table and chair nestled amongst the large tubs and reclaimed butlers sink of hydrangeas, which bloom quite happily in the dappled sunshine there.
This is a precious space where I make time to sit with no phone, no laptop, and just think. Not only is it a peaceful area to sit and watch the clouds go by and the birds frolic in the trees above, but it’s also like having an extra outdoor room to decorate and move furniture around! Which is of course, one of my favourite things to do. (Who’s with me on that?!)
One Dot World kindly asked me if they could gift me a few accessories to style up this shady spot, and my idea was to add a touch of prettiness to the little garden table. Their website is bursting full of beautiful home accessories, so it took a while to choose, but I knew I wanted timeless, elegant pieces for simple alfresco dining. Versatile pieces that I can layer up with my other crockery.

Rosebank Ceramic Large Jug Cream
A beautiful jug is the staple of any kitchen, perfect for serving Pimms on a summer’s day, but which also looks equally pretty as a vessel to display roses from the garden in.
These pretty pink napkins with scalloped edge are made in the softest, buttery linen, and would look lovely with afternoon tea and pretty china plates. Not a fan of pink? They come in grey too!
Finally I chose the Goodwood Ceramic bowl, a sweet little bowl that has a multitude of uses. Dips for an alfresco summer lunch, cream to go with your scones, or even to display pretty soaps in in the bathroom. With it’s vintage French vibe, a couple of these bowls make an essential addition to your crockery cupboard.
About those blooms – the lupins were left over my my friend’s wedding last weekend (I arranged the flowers for the happy couple, and I even made the bride’s bouquet!). The roses are from my very own little garden.
This weekend I had the most incredibly inspiring day in London at Blogtacular, a conference for creative bloggers. I’ll be posting about my day, so please do pop back. There are also a few spaces left at our Decorative Styling Worship in Eridge, Tunbridge Wells this coming Saturday. Do come and join us for a day of playing with gorgeous vintage props and beautiful blooms!
Have a wonderful week!
