Amara Interior Blog Awards-Please Vote!

Hello everyone!
You may remember that last year, I was nominated for the Amara Interior Blog Awards. I was in the Best Colour Inspiration category, and thanks to you lovely readers and your votes, I was lucky enough to make it through to the shortlist. I have talked about it many times here, but that night in London changed my blogging path. I made genuine, lovely friends, people who I know I will always be friends with. It opened new avenues to me, and has helped me on my journey as a freelancer. I was also inspired – inspired by all the beautiful blogs that are out there, that deserve to be seen.
This year, I am excited to say that I have been nominated again. This time, I am in the Lifestyle Interior Blogs category, and I feel right at home there. There are however, a jaw dropping 76 of us in that category! So many gorgeous blogs. Many of my lovely blogger friends are there, many of whom I now know ‘in real life’, and many who I know through social media. There are some big, world famous blogs in there too! I do not expect to win, let me make that clear, but I would dearly, dearly love to get through to the shortlist.
And that is where you, dear readers, come in again! I do not enjoy asking for votes, it feels a little bit like begging. I have learnt though, at the ripe old age of 42, that if I want this, I need to go out and get it. So if you have followed my story from the very start when I was in my old house, setting out on my own, the progress of turning my new house from a frog to a princess, have seen my creative journey flourish, or come here for a little inspiration from time to time, then please, please vote for my blog. It only takes a few seconds. And I need all the help I can get! It’s just me running this little machine, me and my children.
You can vote for me here. Have a browse through the other amazing interior and DIY blogs too whilst you’re over there, you will definitely find some lovely new blogs to bookmark!
Anyway, enough of that for now! Today I wanted to share these snaps of my growing collection of luscious blue glass. With the exception of the blue vase on the far left with the purple dahlia in it (kindly gifted by LSA International – thank you so much!), the others are all vintage. I’ve slowly collected them over the last 18 months or so from car boot fairs. That’s the thing with collections, part of the joy is taking your time to grow one slowly, and to really experience that thrill when you find another piece to add to it! You can still find vintage glass, although it is becoming more sought after. Scour charity shops and flea markets to find 60’s and 70’s glass, which looks amazing when placed near a window so the light can dance through the glass.
I am juggling working from home and being a mum for the rest of this week. I am taking the children to explore a National Trust property (haven’t quite decided which one yet!) so they can create their own fairytales. I’ll take some snaps to share with you!
Have a lovely day!
