Bottlebrush Trees In Vintage Kilner Jars

Hello everyone, I hope this week has treated you well.

This is a fun little project to make if you fancy some retro kitsch sparkle!  I made some of these recently for my second Reclaim Magazine feature that’s in this month’s issue, and they were inspired by these ones that I made a couple of years ago.

I found these lovely old Kilner jars at the car boot sale, but you could just as easily use a large, clean jar.  I used fake snow from Wilko, but you can find it pretty much anywhere at this time of year, Hobbycraft also sell bags of it.  I got these gorgeous little trees from Tiger, I love the colours and they have the perfect amount of sparkle!  I’ve also had fun filling tiny glass bottles with petals and fake snow, not quite sure what I’m going to do with them yet, I’m thinking tree decorations!

I am really looking forward to this weekend, as we have nothing planned other than buying our tree, festive decorating, making mince pies, and curling up in front of movies.  Whether we actually manage to do all of these remains to be seen, but the most important thing for me is to just be at home with the children, pottering and making our little festive traditions.  Keep your eyes out for my festive tour of the house!
