Catching Up!

Hello everyone!

Wow, what a crazy couple of weeks it’s been here!  Hence the lack of posting over here on the blog.  If ever it goes a bit quiet here, you know it’s because I’m running around working on about five projects at the same time!  I have lots to tell you about, so I thought I’d round up in this post.

Norwich Fashion Week

What a brilliant week it was.  Five shows spread over 8 days.  I love working with the Fashion Week team, and this is the fourth year that I have helped out behind the scenes.  I teach the models the choreography for all five shows, as a lot of them have been scouted for a competition for Norwich Fashion Week, and have never set foot on a catwalk before.  They nailed every show.  The clothes this year were also fantastic, ranging from high street retailers to vintage (my favourite!) to local designers.  I am so proud to be a part of NFW – despite being a small city tucked away in the East of England, it really does prove what a vibrant, creative city we are.  I also was a guest lecturer last week at a small seminar for Fashion Communication and Photography students, talking to them about shoot production, which I absolutely loved.

Mollie Makes Magazine

I first met the Mollie Makes team at Blogtacular last June, so I’m pretty delighted to have my egg shaped jewel soaps tutorial featured in this month’s issue!  My home is also being featured very soon, and the photographs were taken last week.  Watch this space, I will let you know when that hits the shelves.

Reclaim Magazine

I’m so very lucky to have my work featured in two magazines this month!  Remember back in January I made the long journey to the Welsh House?  I worked on their Easter feature along with Janice Issitt and Alice Roberton.  The magazine is now on the shelves, so please do take a look – rustic simplicity mixed with pretty Easter touches at a magical location.

I travelled down to London Sunday night to stay with my friend in Islington, as I styled another shoot on Monday for Reclaim Magazine, this time with my styling workshop partner in crime, Katie from The Vintage House That Could.  As I need to take a car load of props, I drove to London, which left me with a few extra grey hairs on my head!  Anyway, it was lovely to see my friend, and on Monday morning, before I left for the Reclaim shoot in East London, I had a wander around Islington on the hunt for magnolia, which you can see in the pictures above.  This is for all the folks whose magnolia hasn’t bloomed yet, London always seems to be a little further ahead in the spring flowering stakes.  The shots taken on Monday for Reclaim were absolutely beautiful, I will let you know that that issue is on the shelves.

In other news, I am off to an Annie Sloan painting workshop on Saturday, where I will get to meet the lady herself!  I will of course take my camera and will write a post about the day – I really can’t wait to meet her.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  • Wow – your life sounds so busy Tamsyn – but luckily everything you’re doing sounds utterly fabulous, so it’s a beautiful kind of busy – which is the best kind! The Norwich Fashion Week reminds me of when I used to cast shows down in London for Julien Macdonald – it was such a magical buzz being involved and back stage during showtime – crazy, happy times! Beautiful pictures by the way -I want to see you shooting as well as styling your own photos next!! xxx
