Craft Room Re-jiggle

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good week!

I’ve been a woman on a mission here.  I’ve been meaning to have a change around in our craft room (yes another one!) for a while, and yesterday we were at home, so it seemed like a good project to get my teeth into.  This cupboard was a car boot fair find a few years ago, and it was no beauty!  It was dark brown, very plain but very practical.  When I got it home, the first thing I did was to paint it bright white inside and out.  I added pretty new glass handles, and added a decorative carved piece of wood at the top to give it a bit more character.  Before adding these flourishes, there was a time when I had it earmarked to be taken to my local charity shop!  However I think these pretty additions have made it a keeper.

I keep all the children’s crafting bits and bobs in the bottom, and the shelves on top are perfect for my vintage fabrics and Queen Elizabeth tins.  Not a bad bit of storage for £15!

Back to my mission yesterday – for the first time in a while, we have a few days at home, which is utter bliss.  The children have needed it just as much as I have  They declined the offer of day trips in favour of den building, crafting later on, and a magic show that they are performing for me ( I can hear them rehearsing as I type!).

I had an idea in my head for a craft room re-jiggle for a while, and yesterday seemed to be the perfect opportunity.  I hauled furniture around, pulled things out of cupboards and generally made a huge mess (does anyone else do that?!), and fell into bed at 11pm last night exhausted.  It’s not quite finished, and of course I’ll share some pictures of it when it’s done, but we now have a huge table in the middle of the room giving us space to create.  Space to sew, work on the laptop, arrange flowers, photograph flatlays and so on.  I hope it will work out, as this room has been changed around many times since I moved here.  I have a good feeling about it this time though!

Here’s a post from the archives to show you another corner of my craftroom, hop over for a peek!

The lovely girl who helps me with my website is putting together a pop up box so you will soon be able to sign up to my newsletter, which is so exciting.  I’ll let you know when it’s live!
