Luscious Dahlia Labyrinth

Hello everyone!
As you know, I have been patiently (or impatiently!) waiting for my dahlias to bloom. It’s fair to say that I have hit a bit of a challenge, as the ones in my front garden (including these) are blighted by black fly. I need some ladybirds to come and save the day, but I haven’t seen any around. Someone very kindly told me that planting marigolds planted nearby help to deter the bugs, so I must try that. Anyway, here my Labyrinth dahlias in their full glory. A lazy Saturday morning means that I have been able to play, so here they are on my tailor’s dummy as a beautiful corsage. The colour is just divine and looks perfect as a pop of colour in this pale corner in my living room.
In the top picture you can also see my cheese plant that I bought back in the spring for £2 from the car boot fair! It looked very parched, but I’ve repotted it and given it some love. It is now rewarding me by slowly unfurling glossy new green leaves. It has taken me a while to get behind the botanical trend, but now I’m loving the addition of plants in my home, and who doesn’t love a cheeseplant with it’s gorgeous tropical leaves!
I am off to sit in my garden to make the most of the sunshine. Don’t forget that I am doing a Laura Ashley Instagram takeover this weekend, so pop over to see some pictures of the little nook I have created down the end of my garden, I’m so pleased with it! You can find their Instagram here, do come and say hello!
Tomorrow I am posting pictures from our Decorative Vintage Styling Workshop down in Eridge, and revealing not just one, but two more workshop dates! We loved the venue at Eridge venue so much that we will be going back down there in June next year.
If you’re a big dahlia fan, you can see another of my other dahlia posts here!
Have a wonderful day folks!
