Festive Decorating

Hello everyone!

Wishing you a very Happy Winter Solstice!

I took these snaps this morning, as I wanted to share some of my festive decorating with you. In truth, I only finished decorating the dining room yesterday – I always leave decorating until the last minute, which is no bad thing when you are using fresh greenery I guess. My boy and I went down the road yesterday to snip the ivy from the hedgerows. I was tempted to buy some eucalyptus front market the other day, but their prices are pretty keen at the moment, and I think the ivy is just as lovely. I used a chalk pen to draw the wreath on the mirror, and little glass jars from yoghurts get washed out and turned into tea light holders.

I also took 20 minutes yesterday to plant some hyacinth bulbs in vintage containers, which always makes me feel Christmassy! Ooh one more thing – I wound some battery powered wire fairy lights round the chandelier in here, to add some extra sparkle.

I’ll be back tomorrow with some more festive photos!
