Flatlay of Bowls and Blooms

Hello everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter, and that your week is going well. The bank holiday has thrown me a bit, and I can’t believe that we are almost on top of the weekend again!
As I write this, I am sat in a lodge on the Isle of Wight! I am on my travels again, assisting the photographer I work with on another holiday park shoot. We caught the ferry yesterday evening, and thankfully the weather was beautiful and the sea was very calm. (You can see some clips in my Instagram stories if you fancy a peek.) We start shooting this afternoon and will work into the evening, photographing a tree house and yurt with lots of fairy lights, which will look magical in the fading light!
I gathered these bowls last week as I was assisting and styling on a food shoot which I absolutely loved. I have been collecting pretty and interesting bowls for flatlays and food styling for a while now, and I absolutely love the patterned blue one on the left which was recent car boot fair find. Also check out my new (old!) rustic table which I picked up from a nearby shop – I had to sand the top as a pot of yellow paint had been spilled on it at some point, but it now sits in the bay window in my bedroom, another mini studio for taking snaps. It’s not quite finished yet, but when things calm down a bit I’ll finish painting the legs and share some pictures of it with you.
Don’t forget that tickets are now for sale for the next Decorative Vintage Styling Workshop, it would be lovely to see some of you there!
My decking in the garden is currently covered in plant pots containing dahlia tubers. I’m so excited because I have already spied some tiny shoots peeking through the soil, which means I must start the battle against the slugs! I am so looking forward to (hopefully) gathering armfuls of dahlias later in the summer, I’m especially excited about Labyrinth which is the most divine bright peachy pink!
Have a wonderful day!
