Mollie Makes Calendar – January

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a lovely week!

I know not all of you will have been able to get hold of a copy of the Mollie Makes 2018 Calendar that I styled and shot, so I’m really excited to reveal the January project!  I’ve seen lots of people saying that they don’t do resolutions, because of the feeling of failure that can be associated with them if you don’t manage to stick to them rigidly.  I don’t really make resolutions for the new year, I prefer to make a list of hopes, goals and dreams.

A lovely thing for all the family to do, is to take lots of little pieces of paper, and to get everyone to write down their dreams for the year.  (They don’t all need to be fancy dreams – how about sleeping under the stars or swimming in the sea, or reading a classic novel?)  I used pretty pastel paper for the pictures above, tied up with scraps of lace or wool.  At the next new year, you can all have fun reading through your little pieces of paper, and seeing which dreams came true!

So what are my hopes and dreams for 2018?  Well every year, I always make a list of the projects I want to get done on the house.  Some jobs are bigger, but I also put lots of small jobs on there too (like decluttering cupboards!), to make it more achievable.  First on the hitlist of bigger jobs, is redecorating Lola’s bedroom, which I hope to get done this month.  I CANNOT wait to share that with you, it is going to be gorgeous!

I also make a list of things I want to achieve creatively.  This year I want to start art journaling (see my Pinterest inspiration board here).  I also want to get really, really good at photography.
