Ceramic Magpie

Katie of Ceramic Magpie, was one of my first Insta friends. Her simple yet beautiful ceramics are not only practical, but are handmade lovingly in a range of delicious pastels. It’s only since I started following Katie that I realised just how much works goes into handmade ceramics – follow her on Instagram to see her mesmerising time lapse videos of her at her potter’s wheel.

One of Katie’s newest creations is this beautiful Strawberries and Cream travel cup.  In shades of pink blush and matt white (also available in slate grey and matt white), this eco-cup holds approx. 9oz of your favourite beverage. Thrown on the wheel in luxury porcelain clay, it comes with grey silicone lid and transparent band to protect your hands from the heat. Seeking Slow by Melanie Barnes

I have followed Melanie for years on Instagram. Her beautiful photography evokes a sense of calm and nostalgia, and share her journey of living a slower, more sustainable life. Melanie has just written a book on this very subject, and she very kindly sent me a copy to review. It has been so lovely to put aside time to read Seeking Slow, which is full of inspiring and practical tips on decluttering your life and concentrating on the more meaningful things, which is something I’ve been thinking about a lot this year. Inky Square

Gaelle Jolly is a calligrapher, and she uses her gorgeous handwritten notes to create dreamy, evocative photographs in her Instagram gallery. These bottles with bespoke hand written messages in them, are like something from a fairytale, and I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them in her gallery. What a beautiful, unique gift they would make, not only for Christmas, but also for a new baby, or for a wedding. At the time of writing this, Gaelle had just two bottles left in her shop, and although she will make more in the New Year, head over to her Etsy store now if you would like to order.

Botanical Tales

No only does Bex make really beautiful wreaths, (see her gorgeous botanical gallery over on Instagram) she has also just opened up a Dried Flower Bar on her website, which I am SO excited about!  I fancy buying some not only for some wreath making of my own, but also to scatter in vintage jars across the house over the long winter. Bex also does workshops, which would be another lovely gift idea. Bex’s shop will be closing on the 11th December, so you have up until then to order something gorgeous in time for delivery for Christmas.
