My Collaboration With British Ceramic Tile

(Heads up folks, this is a sponsored post in collaboration with British Ceramic Tile. Scroll down to the bottom for details on how you can with £500 worth of beautiful tiles for your home!)
Hello every0ne, I hope this week is treating you well so far!
When I moved into my house four years ago, I had my work cut out for me. It was neglected and dirty. Although I was able to clean and paint throughout, there was also a lot of ‘making good’ of what was already there. I installed a new bathroom suite but I didn’t have the budget at the time to re tile the area around the bath/shower. It would have been a luxury to have been able to do that at the time, and I couldn’t afford it, so I made good with what was there. In this case, plain white square tiles, a bit worn and grubby in places, but I could live with them.
Needing that ‘wow’ factor…

In the last year however, I have started to think that it was time to replace the tired old tiles and grouting with something more ‘me’. I’ve been pinning photos onto my Bathroom Inspiration board for a couple of years now. So when the folks at British Ceramic Tile asked me if I’d like to take part in their new campaign, it was a bit of a no brainer! The campaign is called ’Obsessively Original’, and they have invited me to style up their tiles to reflect my unique style and personality.
Creating a moodboard…
First of all, they asked me to come up with some ideas and a moodboard to share the vision I have for my bathroom. I’ve got a thing for tiles in shades of green and turquoise, and after browsing Pinterest, created this board of luscious tiles and colours. The beach plays a big part in inspiring my vision of my bathroom – sea glass, the soft green of the grass in sand dunes, and the pale turquoise of the sea. I also love to include lots of vintage elements in my home, and I’m very much drawn to the retro feel of soft green mixed with the beautiful patterns and designs of Victorian and Edwardian tiles.

It’s going to be tough deciding which tiles I will go with, but my initial feeling is that I’ll go with the metro tiles, maybe with a couple of the gorgeous V&A Clematis tiles to add a floral touch. I’m so looking forward to making my bath more of a feature, and I think these tiles will turn it from something ordinary, into something fabulous!
You can see what some other amazing interiors bloggers have created for Obsessively Original over at British Ceramic Tile. Not only that, but if you have a bathroom or kitchen that needs updating with some gorgeous new tiles, you have the chance to win £500 of gorgeous tiles from their collection, by entering their competition here!
I’ll be back in a couple of days with some photos of my current Reclaim feature, and snaps from my visit to beautiful Rye, East Sussex a couple of weeks ago. So do pop back!
