My New Sofa!

Hello everyone!
I have been lusting after a new sofa for a couple of years now. The other one I had, was bought back in another lifetime – back at the old house, expecting my first baby with my then husband. We chose off white. We clearly had no idea about children!
Fast forward 13 years, and that sofa was looking pretty much done with life. Squished, grubby, a bit saggy, and for some reason, lots of sand (?) and sweet wrappers behind the cushions. I had at least hoped to find a couple of pound coins down the back of it, but it was not to be. Oh and it had a hole in the back, which a mouse made. It needed to go.
So I have been stalking a few online stores the last couple of months, bookmarking possibilities, lusting after various gorgeous colours, and swinging between a Chesterfield style and a more relaxed vintage style with low arms.
A couple of weeks ago, my car had it’s MOT (it passed, hurrah!). I had to walk home, and on the way, I walked past a furniture store I would never have dreamed of looking online at, let alone going inside. And that’s where I found this. Half price, ex display. They had only just put the price down that morning. So, I had to make a decision, and it was really, really hot! It came with a load of cushions which have mostly gone into my prop box, and a footstool. I was going to put that straight onto eBay, what do I need a footstool for? One week on, and I now totally get the point of the aforementioned footstool. It makes for such nice lounging. And it’s great for sitting on whilst I scroll Pinterest.
A couple of things – the legs will go, and I’m going to buy turned wooden feet with little castors, which I think will really make it. Secondly, it really took a couple of days for me to love the colour once it was delivered. At first I panicked and saw it as beige. But as my dear friend Lucy pointed out, it’s more of a champagne colour, really classic, and soo practical (thank you Lucy!). In the winter I will layer it up with charcoal grey linen cushions, and it will be prefect for cocooning myself in.
This is the first time you will have seen my new shelves, displaying my vintage camera collection. I’m a little bit in love with it! Thank you so much to my Dad and brother for putting them up for me!
