Roses From My Garden

Hello everyone, Happy Friday!
So I completed my challenge of posting every day this week, and I’m so pleased! It was important to me to get back into the habit of it – as I said before, all the SEO tick boxes you are meant to check before publishing a post were making the whole process too lengthy, and it was killing the joy of simply making an online journal. I hope you’ve enjoyed these posts from me this week, they have been rather floral, but that’s the nature of this time of year! I really fancy taking some more shots at home over the next few weeks, and do let me know if there is anything else you would like to see.
Anyway, these are Boscobel roses that are in a large pot out on the decking. I purchased five different varieties of bare root roses in the spring, and I was so disappointed as two didn’t come up at all. They are still just twigs in the soil! I have one that I will eventually train up the side of the summerhouse, and another one in a pot. I deliberately picked blooms that would be ok in large pots. The other two that have flowered have been a bit underwhelming (you can see them in the top pic), but Boscobel is glorious, and the scent is divine.
We have a little weekend in London planned, and we are staying with my friend in Islington. I always feel bit nervous driving into London, so wish me luck! We plan to go to Borough Market to take in the atmosphere, and then get a boat to Greenwich. I’ll try and take some snaps along the way!
Have a lovely weekend – I will be back with Part Two of the workshop at English Peonies (See Part One here).
