Shoot For Country House Library

Hello everyone!

I hope your week is going well so far.  The temperatures have dropped again here, and we’ve had hail and blustery winds, so a little more hibernation is required!

I did a really lovely shoot a few weeks ago here in my studio for Country House Library, and I’m so excited to share a few of the images with you today.  Working with small businesses that have a vintage/floral /creative vibe is my favourite thing for obvious reasons.  So when Ami got in touch saying that she’d seen some of my work in Reclaim Magazine and would like to commission me for some photography for their business, I was over the moon.

Country House Library have curated a beautiful and extensive collection of vintage books which they sell online, and ship all over the world.  Not everyone has the best thrift shops on their doorsteps, so to find these online shops of vintage treasures is such a lovely thing.  Ami and I had a chat on the phone, and came up with some ideas for photographing a selection of their vintage books, with a touch of whimsy and magic.

A few days later, and I received several large parcels full of beautiful vintage books.  (Don’t forget that I can shoot for you wherever you are, if you can send the product to me and I can send it back!)  I loved the challenge of matching up different background to the books, and my huge c-stand came into good use for this so I was able to shoot from above.  And how beautiful is that rose print book!

Drop me a line of you would like to get in touch about me shooting your products for you – just click the envelope at the top of this page to send me an email, and we can discuss your brief.

Right, I’m off to to do some painting in the attic – plus I need to roll up my sleeves to prep for doing some wallpapering!

Have a wonderful day – don’t forget you can sign up for new post notificatons, by filling out the form at the bottom of this page!

Hello Tamsyn. I just adore reading your blog/photo journal, and your beautiful photography, and am wondering what your preferred camera is. ( I would love to take a workshop from you, but I live in the states. ) Thanks so much!

Hello Lisa, thank you so much for your lovely comment, I absolutely love hearing where my readers are situated! I use a Canon 80D, and I love it very much. It’s not a full frame camera (I am building up to that!), but it’s brilliant for all my client work. I also have an Olympus Pen which I love, it’s so quick and easy to use once you get the hang of not, and it takes beautiful pictures. Maybe I should do a blog post on it?

    Beautifully done!

Yes, I think it would be very informative to your readers if you did a blog post on which cameras you use, and why.

Hi Lisa, ok that’s great to know, leave it with me and I’ll start getting one together!
