Still Life with Sunshine Colours

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a good start to March!

Here are some sunshine colours to remind those of us in the UK that spring really isn’t that far away, despite the gloomy weather we’ve been having recently.  As I’ve said before, I think one of the loveliest things you can do to brighten a corner is to plant some narcissus or hyacinth bulbs in a pretty container, and watch as they grow day by day.  I also discovered some beautiful hellebores peeking through the soil in the garden this week, such a welcome sight, and the first blooms I’ve cut from my garden since the last of the hydrangeas in November.

We hope to get down to the allotment to clear a few brambles this weekend – my son is desperate to go, and I am keen to strike whilst that iron is hot!  However freezing weather is forecast for the weekend, and I don’t want the children’s enthusiasm to dwindle!  So if the sun pops out, we will wrap up warm and pull up a few weeds.  My Sarah Raven order of dahlia tubers has been dispatched, so there’s no going back now!

My first craft piece for Mollie Makes Magazine is just out in the shops which is really exciting – I have some pictures I will share with you but do keep an eye out for my piece if you read it, it’s such a lovely magazine and I’m delighted to be a small part of it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone – I will be sharing my review of a gorgeous Emma Bridgewater radio/bluetooth speaker next week, so don’t forget to pop back!
