As I mentioned in my last post, making sure the magic stays alive is more important to me than ever. I don't just mean at Christmas, but all year round. In a world where so many terrifying things are happening, it's a little bit of escapism.
As I am sat writing this, the rain is pouring and it's so gloomy, which makes these pictures pretty perfect for today! Hurrah for flickering candlelight.
My brief for the Christmas issue, was tinsel. Yes tinsel! Even I, lover of all that is retro and kitsch had to step back for a moment, and ask myself how on earth I was going to pull this one off.
We had a flurry of snow yesterday. I grabbed the opportunity with both hands to throw some props into a rucksack, and to trudge out to the heath opposite my house to get this shot.
I am signing off for a few days to enjoy some time with my children. I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas, with lots of love and magic!
My lovely mum gave me a 50mm lens for my birthday, and I've had lots of fun shooting with it.
