Winter Wonderland Banquet

Hello everyone!

I hope your first full week of January is going smoothly.

I’m really excited to share these photos with you today, as I loved creating this Winter Wonderland scene for the current issue of Reclaim Magazine.  Just because the festive period has passed us by in a flash, it doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun decorating a table for Sunday lunch!  I wanted to style this scene to look  light and bright, with a touch of decadence, perfect for the winter months.  So a vintage tinkling chandelier, an old urn, lots of hydrangea heads and plenty of candles, all come together to create this elegant setting.

The glass test tube vases were a purchase from my Instagram friend Karen @permillion44, and they are perfect for displaying a single bloom.  I now wish I’d taken a ‘behind the scenes’ of this shot, as although it looks very balanced, out of shot are two stands with a long pole, from which the chandelier was dangling precariously.  Then I also had string rigged up from which the test tube vases are hanging!  Plus throw candles into the mix, so I was quite pleased to get it shot and dismantled as quickly as possible!

In other news I will posting the photos I took the first week I moved here, as it’s the five year anniversary of living in this house.  I’ll aim to post those on Saturday, if you don’t want to miss it, you can always follow this blog via email by entering your email in the link at the bottom of the page, that way you never miss a post from me.

I met up with my lovely friend Katie on Monday, and we had lunch at Petersham Nurseries in Covent Garden, as a New Year treat as we hadn’t seen each other for a while.  I only took some snaps on my phone but I’ll pop them here as it’s a pretty inspiring place.
